What we’re looking for/grading

Production – The players collegiate production relative to competition, including; tackles, sacks and TFLs.

Athleticism – The blend of height-weight-speed. Informed largely by combine numbers and pro days.

Pass Rush – A player’s ability to rush the passer. The player’s first step quickness, efficiency, speed moves, power moves, speed to power, hands and pass rushing moves; bullrush, swim, spin etc.

Run Defense – A player’s ability to stop the run. Ability to control the POA, move and counter move, locate the football, range, ability to get into the backfield and attack the mesh point and tackling ability.

Diagnose and Attack – Judging a player’s ability to diagnose the play in an instance and attack the ball carrier.

Motor – A player’s ability to bring it each and every down. Does the player wear down late in the game? Does he play through the whistle?

Grade Scale:

1 – Poor

2 – Below Average

3 – Average

4 – Above Average

5 – Elite
